Let me start with the headline:
I was diagnosed with ADHD at 62.
Yep. Six. Two.
At an age where most people are figuring out Medicare, I was finally figuring me out.
When the diagnosis came, I didn’t cry or panic or feel sorry for myself. I actually laughed. I thought, Well, that explains a lot.
Like… a lot a lot.
Suddenly, decades of “why the heck am I like this?” made sense.
For most of my life, I thought there was something wrong with me.
I could never follow through—not even with books I wanted to read. I was the queen of starting strong, riding a wave of passion, and then… “Ooh look! Something new and shiny!”
And it wasn’t just personal stuff. In professional roles, I was just as creatively chaotic.
Let me paint the picture…
The Rule-Breaking Membership Director
Back in the day, I was the Membership Director at a YMCA. A solid, respectable title, right?
Well… I created an art gallery inside the Y.
Because, obviously, every gym needs one. I mean, who doesn’t want to gaze at abstract landscapes while walking to the pool in a towel?
It made complete sense to me. Art brings people together. It speaks to the soul. And let’s be honest—most waiting areas are just sad. I wanted to elevate the vibe.
Spoiler alert: the higher-ups weren’t thrilled. Apparently, “transforming the lobby into a creative installation” wasn’t in my job description. But hey, people loved it.
That’s kind of been the story of my life.
I have a brain that connects dots no one else can even see.
A mind that says, “Let’s host an open house at this dental office and ask people to bring donations for a local nonprofit.”
And yes, I did that, too.
Oh, and there was the time I held job interviews and asked candidates to wear their Sunday football-watching clothes. Why? Because I wanted to see the real person—not the one rehearsed in front of a mirror. You learn a lot about someone when they show up in their Eagles jersey and talk tailgating strategy while applying for a front desk position.
I’ve always operated a few wavelengths off the “norm.” But I never saw that as a strength.
Not until I got the diagnosis.
ADHD: The Label That Liberated Me
I know labels can be limiting. Believe me, I don’t walk around introducing myself as, “Hi, I’m Veronica and I have ADHD.”
But in this case, the label helped me see something I never could before:
✨ I’m not broken.
✨ I’m brilliantly wired.
✨ I’m not scatterbrained. I’m wildly creative.
✨ And no, I don’t need to “stay in the box”—because I’ve never even seen the box.
Seriously. People talk about “thinking outside the box” and I’m like…
“There was a box?”
I spent most of school in trouble for talking too much (surprise). My report cards had the usual “great potential, talks excessively, easily distracted” theme running through them like a sitcom rerun.
And yet… here I am now, making a living by talking, connecting, creating, and trusting my wild, intuitive brain.
Go figure.
From Doodles to Downloads: How My Brain Actually Works
Here’s how I describe my mind:
It’s one giant, beautiful doodle.
Not a structured outline. Not a bullet-point list. A doodle.
Curly, whimsical, unpredictable, and filled with divine downloads that come out of nowhere.
This way of thinking has made me an incredibly gifted intuitive guide. I feel things that others miss. I connect seemingly unrelated ideas and patterns. And I just know when something is true, even if I can’t logically explain it.
In other words… ADHD is my superpower.
It’s why I’m so good at helping women who feel like they don’t fit in.
So What Do I Actually Do Now?
Glad you asked.
These days, I do intuitive readings, coach women who are spiritually curious, and run a playful, transformational experience called the Sacred Elements Journey Oracle Game.
Yes, it’s a game—because healing doesn’t always have to be heavy. In fact, the Sacred Elements game was born out of a dream and designed to help women unlock their subconscious wisdom in a fun, colorful, creative way.
Because sometimes what you need isn’t another workbook…
It’s a safe space to PLAY with your truth.
It’s a way to trick your logical brain into letting your intuition take the lead.
And trust me, I’m the perfect co-pilot for that kind of journey.
Why I Share This Now
If you’re reading this and your brain feels like one big swirl of half-finished projects, color-coded lists that don’t work, and a Pinterest board filled with dreams you haven’t dared to try—
I get it.
If you’ve ever been the one in the room who sees life differently… who doesn’t follow the rules… who wonders if you’re just “too much” for the world…
Let me say this:
You are not too much.
You’re just not meant to shrink to fit what someone else called “normal.”
I’ve come to learn that I’m not a mess—I’m a mystery to be honored.
And now that I understand the gift of how I’m wired, I use it every single day to guide other women to their own truth.
I used to think I lacked follow-through. That I had no discipline. That I was flaky or flighty.
Turns out, I just needed a path that honored my energy, not one that tried to confine it.
Now, I follow through in the most soul-aligned way:
- I follow through on creating spaces for deep transformation.
- I follow through by showing up for women who need to hear, “You’re not broken.”
- I follow through with my intuition—every single day.
A Life Lived Out Loud
At 62, I’ve finally stopped trying to tone myself down.
I laugh too loud. I get way too excited about oracle cards.
I believe spirit speaks to us through sidewalk chalk, song lyrics, and the breeze.
And I absolutely believe that you’re here for a reason that no box could ever hold.
You don’t need fixing.
You need freedom.
And maybe, just maybe, a little permission to turn your wild, doodled thoughts into divine direction.
If You’re Still Reading, You Might Be My Kind of People
Let’s play.
Let’s dive into the unknown and find out what your beautifully wired brain is trying to tell you. Let’s use creativity, intuition, and a touch of magic to make sense of your inner world.
You can start with the Sacred Elements Journey Oracle Game—where I’ll be your guide, your cheerleader, and your co-pilot in decoding your soul’s messages.
Or maybe you’re ready for a 1:1 intuitive reading. Or to finally join a community where “different” isn’t just accepted—it’s celebrated.
Whatever you’re feeling pulled toward, trust it.
Your doodle-brain is leading you somewhere beautiful.
Closing Words from a Former Rule-Breaking, Interview-Reinventing, Art-Gallery-Installing Wild Woman
I’ve lived a hundred lives in one.
I’ve confused bosses, broken molds, and asked all the questions no one else dared to ask.
And now? I’m finally at peace with how my brain works.
More than that—I celebrate it.
Because my brain—the one that forgets where the car is parked but remembers the exact energetic frequency of someone’s soul purpose—is a masterpiece.
So is yours.
Let’s stop trying to fix what was never broken.
Let’s get curious. Let’s get playful. Let’s get free.
Because when you stop trying to be who you’re supposed to be,
you become who you were born to be.
And that, my friend, is when the magic really begins.
XO,
Veronica
