(The Awakening Series – part 2)

There’s a kind of quiet that feels alive. The kind that falls after a long stretch of noise when the air finally stills and you can almost hear your own heartbeat again. That’s where faith often lives, tucked between the noise and the noticing.

Lately, I’ve been paying attention to that quiet. The spaces in my day where God might already be speaking, not through grand gestures or miracles, but through the ordinary rhythm of life, the rustle of leaves, a warm smile from a stranger, the tug in my heart that feels like a gentle nudge from somewhere holy.

God still speaks.

We just forget how to hear Him.

He doesn’t compete with the chaos of the world. He doesn’t shout to get our attention.

His voice has always been steady, soft, and sure like a whisper carried on the wind for those willing to pause long enough to listen.

The Subtle Ways God Speaks

When I was younger, I thought hearing from God meant big moments, dramatic answers, crystal-clear signs, burning-bush certainty. But over time, I’ve learned His voice often shows up smaller and kinder than I imagined.

He speaks through beautiful morning light spilling through the curtains, laughter at the dinner table, the way a song lyric reaches the exact place your heart’s been aching.

He speaks through the kindness of a friend who checks in at just the right time, the comfort of being known without needing to explain yourself.

He speaks through truth the words of Scripture that rise off the page and settle deep, the moment conviction feels more like clarity than shame.

The whisper of God isn’t meant to impress. It’s meant to invite.

When You Can’t Hear Him

If you’ve walked through a season where God feels silent, you’re not alone.

Silence doesn’t mean He’s left. Sometimes, silence is His way of saying, “Come closer.”

God’s quiet isn’t distance; it’s depth. It’s the sacred pause between what was and what’s next the space where trust is built.

Elijah learned this in 1 Kings 19. He stood on the mountain, waiting for God to show Himself. There was wind, but God wasn’t in it. Then an earthquake, then a fire and still, no God.

Then came a gentle whisper.

That’s where God was.

Not in the spectacle, but in the stillness that followed.

Maybe God is doing that with us letting the noise fade so we can remember what His voice sounds like.

Learning to Listen Differently

The world teaches us to listen for loud things.

Faith teaches us to listen for peace.

God’s voice doesn’t rush, react, or compete. It brings calm. It anchors. It clears the fog.

When you sense something gentle but firm, kind yet convicting that’s usually Him.

His voice brings peace, not pressure. Conviction, not condemnation. Hope, not hurry.

The more time we spend in quiet, the more we begin to recognize it.

Everyday Whispers

Think back on the small moments lately that made you stop for just a second.

The stranger who smiled.

The text that arrived right when you needed it.

The soft light through the trees that made you take a breath.

Those are whispers. Little brushstrokes of the divine.

God’s voice is woven into the fabric of our ordinary days not hidden, but humble.

We don’t need to chase signs. We just need to notice them.

Making Room for the Whisper

If you’ve been craving connection with God again, start by making space.

You don’t have to add another Bible study or fill another notebook. You just need room to breathe.

Turn off the noise for a few minutes. Step outside. Sit on your porch.

Feel the sun on your skin. Let your heart quiet down long enough for peace to find you.

Faith grows best in uncluttered spaces.

When the Whisper Becomes Familiar

The more we recognize the whisper, the easier it is to find.

Soon, you start hearing Him in laughter, in quiet tears, in the pause between one thought and the next.

It’s not always about direction, sometimes it’s simply about presence.

Because that’s what faith really is: staying open to love in motion.

God’s whisper doesn’t demand. It reminds.

It reminds you that you’re not forgotten, that He’s still near, that you’re safe even when you don’t understand.

You don’t have to chase Him. You only have to slow down long enough to listen.

The Invitation

Maybe faith isn’t about learning to hear something new. Maybe it’s about remembering how to hear what’s always been there.

The whisper of God hasn’t stopped. It still moves through beauty, kindness, and truth through the cracks of our busy days waiting for hearts willing to be still.

If you listen closely, you might just hear it today.

Intuitive Business Coach

Hi, I’m Veronica Drake—but you can call me Vee.

I’m an Intuitive Mentor and founder of The School of Spiritual Arts, where I guide women (mostly over 50) to break free from the stories they’ve been handed and reconnect with who they truly are.

My work is spiritual, practical, and a little bit sassy. I’m not here to fix you—because you’re not broken. I’m here to help you remember your wisdom, trust your intuition, and live from your sacred truth.

When one woman owns her truth, it creates a ripple—and that’s how we begin to shift the world.

Fun facts? I’m obsessed with coffee, true crime, and I once worked on a real-life murder case. (Yep. Ask me about it sometime.)
