My mind is always looking for creative ways to see and experience life — including my relationship with God. These blogs may not follow the traditional path, but my hope is that they meet you where you are — a little entertained, a little inspired, and a little more in love with the God who shows up in everyday moments.
With that said enjoy today’s blog!
It’s funny how the smallest things can hold the biggest meaning.
Take an apostrophe. Just a small curve of ink — nothing dramatic or fancy. And yet, when you add it to a word, everything shifts.
Add it to God and it becomes God’s.
That one mark changes the whole story. It means belonging. It means relationship. It means there’s connection between the Creator and what He loves.
When I first noticed that, I couldn’t stop thinking about it. How a tiny punctuation mark mirrors one of the deepest truths of faith: we are not our own. We are God’s.
We Belong
We spend most of our lives trying to belong.
We try to fit in with family expectations, friend groups, work cultures, even church communities. We chase approval, chase peace, chase that feeling of being enough for someone, somewhere.
But the apostrophe reminds us we already belong — not because of what we do, but because of who God is.
He claimed us long before we ever learned to spell His name. Scripture whispers this over and over: “You are Mine.” (Isaiah 43:1)
Think about that for a second.
Before your first mistake, before your greatest success, before you ever prayed the perfect prayer or said the right words — you were already His.
That little apostrophe, that curved mark of connection, tells the story of belonging we keep forgetting.
What the Apostrophe Really Means
In grammar, the apostrophe shows possession.
It says, “This belongs to someone.” The book’s pages. The child’s toy. The Father’s love.
But with God, it isn’t ownership in the controlling sense. It’s care.
To be God’s doesn’t mean we’re puppets or property. It means we are protected, cherished, and guided by the One who knows us best.
The world’s kind of belonging often comes with conditions:
Be good enough, be strong enough, be successful enough.
God’s belonging comes with grace.
It’s the kind of love that runs toward the prodigal, not away from him.
The kind that sees the mess and stays anyway.
The kind that doesn’t flinch when we doubt, question, or crumble.
That’s what the apostrophe says — not “you’re mine and can’t leave,” but “you’re mine and I won’t let go.”
Living Like We’re God’s
If we truly believed that — if we let the apostrophe settle deep into our hearts — our whole posture toward life would change.
We’d move through our days differently.
Less striving. More surrender.
Less proving. More peace.
Less self-reliance. More trust.
When you know you’re God’s, you stop needing every outcome to go your way.
You can breathe a little deeper in the unknown because you know Who you belong to.
You start to see ordinary moments — coffee brewing, the dog waiting at the door, sunlight hitting the window — as sacred proof of His nearness.
Even the hard days begin to feel held, not wasted.
Belonging doesn’t erase the pain, but it reframes it.
You begin to understand that being God’s means even your suffering can be redeemed. Nothing is outside His reach.
The Mark We Carry
I imagine that if our souls were written words, there would be an apostrophe etched somewhere near our names — a quiet mark that says, “This one is God’s.”
It’s not visible to the eye, but Heaven recognizes it.
It’s the mark of mercy, the imprint of grace, the sign that Love Himself has claimed us.
And just like punctuation gives clarity to a sentence, belonging to God gives meaning to our lives.
Without Him, the sentence feels unfinished.
With Him, everything makes sense — even when we don’t understand it.
A Simple Reminder
So the next time you see an apostrophe, pause.
Let it be a holy reminder.
You are not just wandering through this world trying to make sense of it all.
You are God’s.
That truth doesn’t depend on your mood, your mistakes, or your spiritual performance. It depends only on His character — steady, faithful, unchanging.
That tiny mark on the page is a whisper from Heaven:
“You belong.”
And maybe that’s all you need today.
Not another self-improvement plan or five-step faith routine — just a moment to remember who you are, and whose you are.
So take a breath.
Let the world spin how it will.
You, beloved, are God’s.
Always have been. Always will be.
Reflection:
Where in your life do you see signs of God’s care and claim on you?
Maybe it’s in the peace that shouldn’t make sense.
Maybe it’s in the people who show up right when you need them.
Maybe it’s just in the quiet knowing that, no matter what happens, you’re held.

Hi, I’m Veronica Drake—but you can call me Vee.
I’m an Intuitive Mentor and founder of The School of Spiritual Arts, where I guide women (mostly over 50) to break free from the stories they’ve been handed and reconnect with who they truly are.
My work is spiritual, practical, and a little bit sassy. I’m not here to fix you—because you’re not broken. I’m here to help you remember your wisdom, trust your intuition, and live from your sacred truth.
When one woman owns her truth, it creates a ripple—and that’s how we begin to shift the world.
Fun facts? I’m obsessed with coffee, true crime, and I once worked on a real-life murder case. (Yep. Ask me about it sometime.)
